ANOTHER YEAR
(2007—2011)

A SOGGY CREEK BIRTHDAY...

After weeks of drought, the Ozarks finally came on to rain. While the timing could not have been worse for the StateoftheOzarks birthday at Starvy Creek near Conway, Missouri, we needed the rain and it was still a whole lot of fun.

Highway 32 graciously hosted StateoftheOzarks that afternoon, and it wasn’t long before their jam session tent was decorated with colorful balloons and stocked with homemade cheeecake, coffee, photos... and guests.

A variety of folks showed to lend their support to StateoftheOzarks, including Teresa Romans of the Heart of the Ozarks Bluegrass Association and Lori King of the Bluegrass Music Association of Iowa.

Co-editor of StateoftheOzarks, Pastor Dale Grubaugh led the attendees is a short prayer and then we began visiting, drinking coffee and eating cheesecake.

For me, the best part came in standing there realizing I would likely have never had the chance to know any of these folks had I not started StateoftheOzarks.net four years ago on this day.

It was a warm and deeply humbling realization. Without the people of the Ozarks embracing this magazine, StateoftheOzarks would mean nothing.

Thank you all for your support. God bless,
Joshua Heston, editor
